Hollywood continues its neverending quest to option every video game before it’s even released. Capcom’s third-person shooter “Dark Void” is coming out next January, unlike your cousin, who will come out at Thanksgiving dinner this year. (Sorry to ruin the surprise, but I can deny our love no longer!)

Reliance BIG Entertainment and Brad Pitt’s company Plan B are already developing the Dark Void feature film as a potential Brad Pitt vehicle.

“Void” centers on a a cargo pilot named Will (Pitt’s presumed character) who, after crashing in the Bermuda Triangle, ends up in a parallel universe where a band of humans must fight an alien threat they had long been thought extinct. Will and the other humans are outmanned but have a number of weapons and powers to help them beat back the alien incursion. [THR]

How can Will Smith not be involved in this?  Watch the first of the two clips below and tell me you can’t see him flying around in that rocketeer suit and saying “Welcome to parallel universe Earf” after punching that alien-robot lookin’ thing.
