That’s racist!
Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney have held the option on the Alien Legion comic book series for quite some time, seeking to develop a live-action movie (and a sequel, and another sequel, and a video game, and a theme park ride, and a toy line, and a breakfast cereal, and a floor polish, and a dessert topping).
The script is in its third rewrite now, and it’s looking promising as they’ve hired Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, the writers of Wanted and 3:10 to Yuma, two movies I’ll admit I liked despite the curving bullets.
USAToday describes the series as “a much grittier Star Trek blended with The Dirty Dozen and Kelly’s Heroes“. I’d like it more if it were a much grittier Red Dwarf blended with The Magnificent Seven and whatever’s happening here.
