Over the weekend, a group of Mad Max fanatics went out to the desert outside of LA and created their own camping Bartertown for a three-day-long Road Warrior weekend. How amazing was it? Well, they not only had their own working gyrocopter, but even a Thunderdome (albeit, more circle than dome) with mock two-men-enter-one-man-leaves fights.
Now, you could say, “is this any less geeky than pretending to be a wizard in a state park while throwing bean bags at cardboard knights?” And the answer would be “no, not really. But it sure looks a lot cooler.”

The good thing is the costumes can also be used when they dress up as Klingons.
What’s that supposed to mean??? Guy’cha!
OMG! I’m wearing that same outfit!
Sorry, Dormammu. No offense to your alter ego.
Road Head conventions are way more fun. Or so I’ve heard.
Chino, nice costume! Wanna take it off so I can get a closer look at it?
um
Just walk away and there will be an end to the horror.
I thought this was called “Burning Man.”
Some of us don’t need costumes. Some of us are just naturally post-apocalyptic looking.
