I think we’ve already found a use for the paper supercapacitors from yesterday. MIT has debuted a new type of bicycle wheel (The Copenhagen Wheel) at the COP 15 Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
It has sensors for speed, direction, and distance, including Bluetooth capability to send the info from the sensors to the rider’s cellphone. It has a built in lock that sends a text if the bike is tampered with. (HALP! I IZ NOT DIS GUY’S BIKE!) But of all this, my favorite feature is the “KERS” (Kinetic Energy Recovery System). The KERS stores energy from braking and can release a speed burst later.
I’m taking this baby down a huge hill with the brakes on, and then we’ll see if I can get this futurebike up to 88 mph.

Whoa, this is kind of like my idea to have like little alternating current generators in tires because they go around so much, and oh never mind.
dude, with that wicker basket on the front you’ll NEVER get up to 888mph..why don’t you just go cry to mommy?

The KERS system is in use in European F1 racing. They are also require the pit crews to wear huge rubber gloves as the whole body can potentially become electrified.
Hopefully this sort of thing catches on and the hipsters are sterilized in the process of riding their fixies.
thats sexy looking wow all sleek and shit
