GHOST RIDER 2 IS INEVITABLE
01.11.10
Collider had a long interview with producer Mike De Luca about the Ghost Rider sequel, currently subtitled Spirit of Vengeance, which is the same phrase spraypainted on the side of my biplane. Here’s a summary of the interview:
- It’s going to be in 3D. Of course.
- It’ll be a “hard PG-13″, which is code for “still lame, but with a rock-metal soundtrack so you know it’s extreme.”
- It takes place in Europe.
- David Goyer may direct, depending on his schedule. The movie may film in 2010, depending on when the script is finished. (There’s a script? I thought they just followed Nic Cage around with a camera.)
- The sequel will be “pushing the reset button” on the franchise, which is code for, “Look, I know the first one was ridiculous, but we’ve got better computers this time!”
- Neither Eva Mendes nor director Mark Steven Johnson will be returning.
A Ghost Rider sequel without Eva Mendes or Wes Bentley or Sam Elliott? I’m not so sure about that. Let’s ask Mr. Owl:

Excellent point, Mr. Owl.

I think I can officially say that I’m over the novelty of 3D again for probably the third time in my life.
I prefer my movies in 1D.
how about no D
Why not just make it into a 4-D movie at Universal Studios?
More people will probably see it that way.
At the AVN you can get movies released in double D. Nah…
That is not an owl. At all. It’s an eagle. Or a hawk. Definitely not an owl.
