SHARKTOPUS IS COMING
02.15.10
The Sharktopus, which is totally real and also invented the cheetahpult, is getting the B-movie treatment this year. SyFy original movies director Karen O’Hara announced via SyFy’s twitter that Roger Corman would be producing Sharktopus for the SyFy channel. The movie’s been rumored for awhile; she tweeted over a month ago, “So – if you were making a movie called SHARKTOPUS – half shark, half octopus – what cool stunts would you like to see the creature do?”
I want to see it drink a whole gallon of milk without throwing up. Anyway, they found the perfect dude to produce this. You may know Roger Corman as the producer of Supergator, Gatorpocalypse, Megacroc, Gator Bikini Beach Party, Dinocroc, Dinosaur Island, Carnosaur 3, Dinosaur Temptation Island, Dinoshark, Raptor, and Ultrashark versus the Argonauts. Guess which titles I just made up.

Guess which titles I just made up.
Fur Lined Croc?
I won’t discount Corman’s ability to spin reptilian tales, but can he make the leap to marine hybrids?
Sharktopus is coming, and he’s spraying ink all over our chests.
They didn’t make a movie about Bearsharktopus because that would be too unbelievable. The bear part, I mean.
The only way that banner pic could be more gangsta? If it played that Faraday Suit Imperial march.
I got really excited about Ultrashark versus the Argonauts until I realized there is no such movie. For shame! Don’t tease with false promises of movie greatness.
Oh god is it sad that I’ve seen all those movies already except for the last one. Corman used to be awesome with movies like galaxy of terror, the intruder, and death race and now he does movies like Scorpius Gigantus which is awesome but in a totally different way.
Is it bad that when I hear some of those ridiculous titles, I really want to make up as many silly names for movies and pitches for them to make them sound less ridiculous than they actually are?
