Sony has filed a patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a “universal game console controller”. It has an LCD touchscreen displaying buttons that change their design to match the console being used. This raises a some questions:
- How can I find the button to press to steal cars if I can’t feel anything but a flat screen?
- Is this compatible with my KitchenAid Stand Mixer? THIS IS IMPORTANT.
- Will it have turbo buttons like the NES Max? Turbo buttons or GTFO.
- Can it Triforce?
To answer the second question myself, the patent says it’s compatible with “the Playstation made by Sony, a controller made by Nintendo, X-box game controllers made by Microsoft, Atari Jaguar controllers, Gravis Gamepad controllers, Sega controllers, and Turbographics controllers.”
You can view a fascinating diagram from the patent filing after the jump.

Insert tab A into slot B to Triforce.
