FALLOUT 2 COULD HAVE BEEN HARDC0RE
03.02.10Brian Menze drew the perk images for Fallout 2. He recently revealed his Vault Boy image for the “Childkiller” status that didn’t make the final cut of the game. Kotaku reports:
We can see why that was cut from the game and replaced instead with the “Hated” reputation icon. Just in case it’s not clear to you that Vault Boy’s kicking mom in the womb, that gown helpfully indicates baby’s on board. I don’t think you’ll go to hell for laughing at this – but you will if you imagine it accompanied by a Looney Tunes kettle drum sound, like I did.
Originally, you would have gotten the Childkiller reputation if you killed any kid, even accidentally. Pretty amazing they were considering this icon when Fallout 3 doesn’t allow any child character to even be attacked. Menze said this is the only Vault Boy image to ever be cut from Fallout 2, but he’s actually forgetting about the infamous and difficult-to-obtain “Simultaneous Wifebeater/Animalkiller” reputation icon which is a real thing that totally existed:

Thank you new iphone background.
You could whack one of those thieving little bastards and NOT get the rep if you did one thing…
Git rid of your entire inventory (stash it in a box) take a dynamite charge and set the timer, walk up to the bar/trader entrance and just stand for a minute. They steal the dynamite, the timer goes off and you keep your steller rep.
