“Karate Robot Takes on Pugnacious Chicken”

Robots must not become self-aware and seek vengeance for chicken costume.

That headline is the real title of a Reuters article I could not ignore.  I clicked hoping to see exactly what was advertised.  Their video doesn’t embed (view it here), but I found another video that also delivered the karate robot / pugnacious chicken.  The clip below is from the March 2010 Robo-One competition in Kawasaki, Japan, where bi-pedal, humanoid robots b*tchslapped each other for supremacy.

But this is no normal wrestling match — the contenders are diminutive humanoid robots built and controlled by participants in the twice-yearly Robo-One Championships.  In the featherweight division, “Automo03-Sandan” — a robot dressed in karate gear — is no match for “Leghorn,” a chicken-like robot known for its vicious “Chicken Chop” martial art moves. I didn’t realize the Hugh Jackman movie is going to be a documentary.  I should have known that campy fellow would eagerly wear a chicken suit and get pounded.  Um, that didn’t come out right.  Or it came out very right.  Haven’t decided.
