An ebayer is selling a 1:1 working replica of the Batpod from The Dark Knight. The frame and tubing are welded from hardened steel, and as for the rest of it:
The covers and arm guards, which are formed with high tensile strength fiberglass, hide the actual engine which is a high output 650cc 4 stroke, water cooled engine with direct port nitrous injection [...]. The front and rear tires measure 508 millimeters across and it is outfitted with grappling hooks, grenade launchers, and 50 caliber machine guns for those traffic jams on the freeway. (No… they don’t really work.) [Ebay via ComicsAlliance]
Oh, where’s your sense of adventure? The best reason to have a Batpod is to shoot grenades at something and then ramp off its fiery, burnt-out husk.
They’re requiring a $5,000 nonrefundable deposit by bank wire transfers only to look at the bike in person and the seller has a feedback of 1. So, yeah. Caveat emptor. They also say this isn’t street legal. Well, of course it’s not street legal. He’s the goddamn Batman.
