The hipster robot you see tastefully photoshopped above (and even more tastefully being punched in the stupid face to the right) is called Acroban.  Of course it’s called “Acroban” instead of, say, Steve or Bob.  It’s a beautiful snowflake.  Anyway, this lightweight humanoid robot is built by Indria Flowers (which totally sounds like an altfolkrock singer hipsters would love).  It can sort of walk, which they’re calling “semi-passive dynamic walking”.  You haven’t heard of that; it’s kind of obscure. *flips nonexistent bangs disdainfullyAcroban Steve is made out of inexpensive materials and will compliantly move its joints into new positions when a human shoves it a little.  Just like all hipsters.

Watch it shuffle around aimlessly, basically loitering just like a hipster, in the video below.  Since there isn’t much audio in the video, I’ve added a song by Shout Out Out Out Out you can play at the same time.  It’s Acroban’s favorite, although it’ll tell you its favorite is some unlistenable Icelandic electropop “you’ve probably never heard of.  It’s kind of obscure.”

[And a chilly keffiyeh adjustment to Engadget for the tip.]
