Jason Flemyng has had a role in every film Matthew Vaughn has directed, and now X-Men: First Class can be added to that streak.  Flemyng confirmed at London’s Movie Con this weekend that he will play Azazel in the film.  The character is the leader of an ancient race of demonic mutants who were cast into an alternate dimension.  Due to his teleporting abilities, Azazel can reenter the X-Men dimension for short periods of time.  He does so in attempt to meet and impregnate women.  Awwwwww yeah.  One of these women was Mystique, whom he impregnated with Nightcrawler.

Empire Online talked to Flemyng at Movie Con:

“Matthew showed me my costume just the other day. Now I swore I’d never be in heavy make-up again, but this role is going to involve it. But at least they said, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll add the tail in post’. I am Azazel, and I can teleport by waving my arms [gestures like a cross between a flamenco dancer and a Bollywood star].” [Empire]

He also said his skin will be red in the film (they won’t need much makeup, from the looks of it).  Regarding that “heavy makeup” comment, Flemyng ably played Jekyll and Hyde in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, a movie I had thankfully forgot existed until now.  So thanks a lot for that, Empire.
