Belle Chere’s Eye-Popping Cosplay Costumes

11.14.11 Written by Brian Childs

If you’re a regular reader of Gamma Squad, then you know that there is an impressive number of extraordinary cosplayers out there. That said, I don’t I’ve seen a cosplayer that more closely resembles the character they’re dressed up as than Belle Chere. Whether she is dressed up as Ivy from “SoulCalibur”, She Hulk or Vampirella, Belle Chere’s appearance is shockingly dead on.

I chatted with Belle Chere via email about cosplaying, comic conventions and costume making. Keep reading to check out the interview and photos of some of her most amazing costumes.

Get Creepy With The Introspective Art Of CJ Tanedo

11.01.11 Written by Brian Childs

CJ Tanedo’s self portraits look like something out of the film “The Cell,” showing the inner struggle of a man by literally showing that man fighting himself. By cleverly playing with the human body, stacking heads on top of themselves, turning the mind into a maze and placing a screaming mouth on a stomach, Tanedo creates images that are both unsettling to look at and thought provoking.

Check out some of our favorites of his pieces in the slideshow or check out his Deviant Art page for his complete profile.

10.28.11 Written by Brian Childs

Some rare and incredibly charming photos from the “Creature from the Black Lagoon” have surfaced and man, it looks like those monster makers were having a blast. It is so wonderful to see the creature from the Black Lagoon hanging out, mugging for the camera and laying some smooches on the ladies. Normally, us non Hollywood types only get to see him lurking and kidnapping screaming beauties. After checking out these images, you’ll be begging your mom to let you go swimming in swamps infested with lizard men.

Plots From The Unaired Season 8 of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ Make Hilarious Tweets

10.26.11 Written by Brian Childs

What would an eighth season of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” have looked like? The hilarious TNG_S8 Twitter account imagines plots from a fictitious final season perfectly satirizing the loopy and occasionally predictable plot twists of TNG. What can you expect? Tasha Yars granddaughter suffers a horrible death in a time loop, Troi mainlines chocolate and Riker is really, really manly.

Check out these 140 character summaries of episodes, many of which seem like they could have actually gotten filmed despite their ridiculousness.
