Skyrim 2012 – Part Two: Stealing Cats and Taking Names

01.31.12 Written by Chodin

The last we heard from John & Justin Grosjean, the brothers were busy Skyrimming (yes, that is now a verb) their way through the local convenience store. Well, now they’re both back stirring up trouble, this time negating even more amounts of medieval karma than before.

On their latest adventure, the brothers perform a little breaking and entering over at Gregethor’s pad -wouldn’t you know, that dude leaves his cottage unlock all the time. After feeding their kleptomaniac impulses, the brothers discover that Gregethor doesn’t appreciate his cat being stolen, amongst other belongings.

And thus is the plight of the modern Skyrim warrior: even with good intentions, townsfolk will try to murder the sh*t out of you.

Matt Damon Minecraft Texture Pack? Matt Damon Minecraft Texture Pack.

01.30.12 Written by Chodin

To start off, there are already pretty much endless possibilities when it comes to Minecraft. But sprinkle on top of that a texture pack or some other form of modification and the potential for greatness becomes quite clear. Welcome to the history books, Mr. Andy. See, what this guy has done is created a Matt Damon texture pack that essentially turns everything to all things Damon. The moon? Matt Damon. Pumpkins? Matt Damon. Your bed for sleeping? Matt Damon. The only catch is that the mod was created for the 1.8 beta version and hasn’t been upgraded to the latest Minecraft version. Do we mind? Hell no.

Well That’s One Way to Stop A Zombie: AK-47 + Chainsaw Bayonet

01.27.12 Written by Chodin

What. Is. She. Looking. At???

You know, often I awake in my twin sized bed and wonder, “Is an AK-47 really the best defense against an onslaught of zombie invaders?” Well, now my neurotic brain can finally rest thanks to the new DoubleStar Zombie-X AK-47: a weapon that beautifully illustrates just how truly pimped a machine gun can get.

First and foremost, the DoubleStar Zombie-X AK-47 has a friggin’ battery-operated chainsaw slapped on for a bayonet. Second, there’s a custom gun sight on the side of the weapon and it even has its own biohazard reticle when you look through it. Last, the AK has a…wait for it…bottle opener attachment, which is just plain genius.

Built exclusively for the SHOT Show 2012, check after the jump for footage of the weapon in the arms of one of its creators.

A Hot Pocket Dispensing Xbox 360 Controller? A Hot Pocket Dispensing Xbox 360 Controller.

01.26.12 Written by Chodin

For anyone who has never heard of Ben Heck, I highly suggest heading on over to his website now. See, Ben is a console mod guru who regularly uploads his achievements online for all the world to take a look at. However, from this day forward, the man may well become synonymous with his latest invention: the Hot Pocket-holding Xbox 360 controller. Yes, you heard correct.

From concept to installation, Ben demonstrates every aspect of the build. We’re talking blood, sweat and tears, all in the name of not having to place your gaming controller down every time you want to deep throat a pepperoni pocket. A noble cause, indeed.

Guinness Book of World Records Confirms World’s Largest Gaming Controller (video)

01.25.12 Written by Chodin

Hey ladies…

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: haters gonna’ hate. Guinness Book of World Records Gamer’s Edition 2012 confirms that an engineering team from the Delft University of Technology, in the Netherlands, has officially constructed the world’s largest gaming controller. Students Benjamin Allen, Stephen van’t Hof, and Michel Verhulst are the ones responsible for the giant NES controller; taking nearly four weeks to assemble, the 12ft X 5ft 3 in X 1ft 8 in controller cost the team around $6,000 to build, weighing in at a whopping 265 pounds.

And just in case large-scaled controllers aren’t your thing, the video after the jump also features other winners from Guinness this year: the world’s first female Street Fighter champion, some dude who plays Wii inside a wind tunnel for 18 minutes and let us not forget the world’s most successful Pokémon playing family. Like I said: haters gonna’ hate.

Skinless Robot Babies Are Here to Freak You Out, Maaan

01.24.12 Written by Chodin

So, do you remember waking up this morning and promising yourself that you were going to conquer that fear of creepy animatronic babies? You do?! Well that’s great, because today is definitely not the day to commit yourself to something like that. Especially not as long as special effects guru Chris Clarke has his latest creation running amok in this world.

You see, Clarke has been in the movie magic game for quite sometime. Most recently, he’s the man responsible for creating faux horse puppets used in Steven Spielberg’s War Horse film. So what’s he up to building evil and soulless robot babies? Oh, that’s easy: an evil and soulless soap opera needed an animatronic baby for filming. Of course…
