Hilarious Fail Of The Day: Sony Retweets PS3 Jailbreak Code

02.10.11 Written by RoboPanda

Last month Sony successfully got a temporary restraining order against George Hotz (Geohot) for posting a PS3 jailbreak online, which makes this new development all the more delicious.  Travis La Marr (AKA @exiva) directed a tweet to @TheKevinButler which contained the PS3 jailbreak code and ended with, “Come at me”.  The Kevin Butler twitter account is ran by Sony, based on their fictional character in advertisements who is the Vice President of many nonexistent departments.  Sony retweeted the jailbreak code in its entirety along with the joke, “Lemme guess . . . you sank my Battleship?”  Yes.  Yes he did.

The tweet has since been removed and Sony hasn’t commented on it.  La Marr, meanwhile, has tweeted that he “can’t wait for my name to show up on the list of subpoenas for Sony.”  Later he added, “Anyone want to start a pool on how long it takes Sony to contact me for embarrassing them & doing what I did? Calling it ‘My Defense Fund’”  Perhaps funniest of all, he goes on to say he doesn’t even own a PS3.

IMDb Thinks Jay Chou is John Cho

01.17.11 Written by RoboPanda

“Oh, look, twins.” — IMDb

Several sites, including Cineboobs, /film, and FirstShowing, have pointed out that IMDb listed John Cho as the star of The Green Hornet, even though the poster IMDb has on its page for the movie clearly says Jay Chou on it.  For those not familiar with these two, Jay Chou is a 31-year-old Taiwanese pop musician who has sold over 28 million albums and could barely speak English when he was hired to play Kato.  John Cho, on the other hand, is a 38-year-old Korean American who has spent most of his life in the U.S., speaks English fluently with an American accent, and looks f*ck all like Jay Chou.  Damn it, IMDb. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Note: the IMDb page has now been fixed.  And, yeah, I know it’s a user-edited website and dumb crap like this gets through sometimes.  I’m just in a sparring mood today.  Consider the gauntlet thrown, IMDb. I don’t like your tweed, sir. Fisticuffs at dawn, shall we? Splendid. Make-up sex after? Don’t mind if I do.
