Young Urban Puppy: Geeky Dog Costumes Have Never Been Cuter

08.22.11 Written by Brian Childs

Good news for dog loving geeks, which I assume should be almost all geeks with a full heart life bar. Young Urban Puppy has handmade, custom fit outfits for your favorite, furry video game companion. Each outfit is $24.50 and can be purchased here.

Parsnip is a dachshund who loves looking her best, but never can find clothes long enough to fit her swanky physique. Young Urban Puppy makes CUSTOM fit clothes for the canine who knows couture. Best of all, every outfit comes complete with a matching headband to put the finishing touches to make your little one look FIERCE!

My favorite part of this story, besides the fact that these awesome costumes exist at all, is the look on Parsnip’s face. I love that she stares straight into our eyes with a questioning, searching gaze that seems to say to me, “I have no idea what is happening or why everyone is laughing in delight when they see me.”

Keep clicking to check out all of Young Urban Puppy’s geekiest outfits.

Harry Potter As Explained By Someone Who Has Never Seen Harry Potter

08.16.11 Written by Chodin

If there’s one thing that the internet is good for it’s downloading pornography researching information. And if there ever happened to be a second feat that the World Wide Web was best known for, it’s the ability to spread misinformation. Today we focus on the latter. Reddit user Skopak recently dragged his ass to a screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 without any previous knowledge of Harry, his Potter or any of that other crap. Skopak has never read any of the J.K. Rowling novels, never watched any of the films or played with any of the LEGO-themed merchandising. And this is exactly why Skopak has decided to field any questions fans may have about the Harry Potter franchise!

Hilarity ensues as fish are shotgunned repeatedly in Skopak’s barrel. Be sure and check after the jump for our favorites, along with Skopak’s ENTIRE history of Harry Potter (as according to him, of course).

Deathly Hallows Film Team To Take On Stephen King’s The Stand

08.12.11 Written by Jon

Stephen King movies typically fall into two categories: “classic films that everyone should see” and “ridiculously horrible movies that make you wish it was possible to remove the last two hours of your life.” Which is why, when a new King film project is announced, it’s hard to have any reaction other than “meh.”

But it’s hard not to hope for at least a mediocre film when the film will be adapted by the team behind Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, which garnered both critical acclaim and over $1.1 billion at the box office Yep, director David Yates and screenwriter Steve Kloves will be adapting King’s apocalyptic novel The Stand into a multi-film series for Warner Brothers. Not cramming The Stand into one movie is probably a smart move, considering the original novel is a mind-numbing 1,152 pages long.

But while an epic multi-part The Stand movie series sounds great, it may be too good to be true, considering the recent collapse of King’s Dark Tower movie series that Ron Howard and Brian Grazer were set to do with Universal. Luckily it looks like Warner Brothers might be willing to actually pony up the money to do it right as they no longer have the Harry Potter franchise to bring in the bucks.

Now, we’re betting a film series where over 99% of the Earth’s population dies in the first third of the story probably won’t have the same merchandising potential as a bunch of teenage wizards. But, it would make a dandy theme park, wouldn’t it?

Tom Felton Attempts To Slytherin Your Pants With Harry Potter Pick-Up Lines

08.12.11 Written by Brian Childs

When you look at the actors and actresses in the Harry Potter movies, it’s hard not to wonder which of them are going to have post-Hogwarts careers. Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, is starting to seem like he might just have a chance.  He did a great job playing a sniffling a-hole in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”. Admittedly, he’s pretty much playing an older, American version of Draco, but if you’re good at something why mix it up?
